Undercoat
Undercoat is a oil based paint which contains lots of pigment to cover the item being painted, it is used on walls and ceiling as a base coat especially if the surface to be paint differs from the eventual colour required.
it is also used on wood or metal as a base coat before Glossing, sometimes two coats of Undercoat are required if the first coat does not cover the item being painted adequately, tools are cleaned with white spirit or turpentine substitute.

Under coat paint coverage provides an even base for topcoats.
We recommend considering a slightly different shade of undercoat to topcoat so you can see where a surface has been painted.
